I sympathize, I priced out the parts I needed to tighten up my steering (inner and outer tie rods, boots), and decided to buy a whole '97 GT rack for $100. It was cheaper and easier

that is pretty expensive for a boot.even a new clutch fork boot is close to $20 :x
maybe you could find a later model subaru in the JY and see if it has good boots?
also maybe try a cheap auto parts place like schucks, napa, or whatever is on your area.

Thanks for the ideas. I called napa (only part store that carried them) and they were almost as much as the dealer. I am going to call the JY's and see if anyone has a roo sitting on thier lot. This is FL and there ar not that many roos here.

dood, i know $25 is alot for the boot, but seriously, what do you expect, it's a 15 year old car. shit gets expensive. If you can't find something easily, might as well just suck it up and pay for it

If you can find another ripped one or a generic boot, you can double them up and tie wrap them between the pleats.

I did both boots on my mini-van for $14.00

11:45 pm after doing some searching I found the boots for $15.00 each.

I helps if you call them Gear Bellows (rack boots) instead of tie rod boots.

Tie rod boots = $25.00 parts store $32.00 at the dealer

Gear Bellows = $15.00 each at the same parts store ($9.99 at autozone)

Kicking someones ass for making me stress out all damn day about a peace of rubber and some clamps..... PRICELESS.

For purchasing car parts there is cash....
For everything else there is A GIANT CAN OF WHOOP-ASS!!!

You all will be happy to know I no longer need the bellows....I need a new engine. (Maybe) Please see the engine forum for the problem.
