From DMS Suspension, I have been cheated and stolen from for the past 4 months.

Read, enlighten, never buy DMS or at least have them serviced with their "distributor".

Ouch, that sucks.

I'm finally getting the 4th STi take-off I paid for on Feb 3rd. The guy improperly packaged the struts, didn't insure them, and the box fell apart on the way and UPS lost one. They said it wasn't their fault, he said it wasn't his fault, and wasn't going to give me a refund or replacement. l I called my bank, they reversed the charge, and paypal put a hold on his account. Now he's sending a replacement. He supposedly has a legitimate business parting out WRXs and EVOs and such, too. I'm just glad I didn't have to take him to small claims court.

I have full documentation of what went down.

He did work on the side, and charged me on a Lachute Subaru official invoice.

I'm not sure. I asked a law student friend of mine, and he said to go to the local courthouse and file some paperwork, and they would tell me what to do there. Apparantly in contract law cases such as mine would have been, the buyer is usually the one entitled to compensation, and the other guy would have had to replace my parts and pay the court fees.

I bought that damn blitz sbc id boost controller or whatever it is off of ebay for just under 400 dollars and the thing is useless. Auction listed it as a functioning boost controller but its missing the computer part. Stupid paypal denied my claim too. It actually looks like it was stolen out of somebody's car.

Damn Phil, this pissed me off back when you first told me about it and I suspected a rip off back then too. This guy is an asshat. He should have never done the additional work without contacting you first in the first place! It really gets my blood boiling when people rip off people, especially when it's me or a friend of mine.

I'm sorry things went so bad, I don't know what your options are really at this point but if you want to take a road trip to Canada and curb a fool, let me know. ;)

Weird  :!:

I was in lachute rally shop yesterday, Mark doesn't work there anymore since a couple of months.

Lachute is the most honest shop i ever been to, period. So i'm awfully surprised by your story. Did you contact Julien Pilon directly, he his the shop manager.

I don't think they fix DMS shocks anymore, but he surely can work something out for you.
I never were impressed by DMS performance anyway on our rally car, you surely can find something more cost effective, good luck

Oooh. No. That definitely makes things a little more complicated. I'd think there would still be some sort of legal action you could take, though.

I just got off of the phone with Julian and we discussed what was going on.

He was a bit defensive, thinking I was ragging on Lachute. I am, but not that THEY did anything wrong, just that they were involved in something they, apparently, should not have been.

He said Mark has not worked there since 11/04, and that it was really between him and I, and not Lachute. I disagreed, saying that I mailed the coilovers to Lachute, and the DMS North America support boards are piggybacked on the Lachute boards, as well as Lachute still being listed as the North American distributor.

He said he would help me get to the bottom of this, and call me back on Wednesday. I would hate for this to escalate further, but I am willing to do what it takes to retain a little bit of honesty in the world of automobile aftermarket products. I am not fighting just for the money, MY money. I am fighting for the right way to do things. I will soon be contacting DMS at their world headquarters and express my serious concerns with the people they choose to be distributors.

I'm glad something's happening with it... It seems both you and LaChute are victims of Mark's approach to dealing with things.

azn2nr : The fact that this is a Canadian business as absolutely nothing to do with this.
That's just a really cheap way to explain the situation.

Don't even get me started on how many times the americans ripped us off. It useless, It's an issue between two persons, not to country goddamn it.

woah there buddy. i know that its between 2 people. my situation was between 2 people too.

if what i said came out offensive im sorry.

like i said though, i love canada. i vacation there often, but i get espcialy queezy when dealing with canadians because i know that if i get ripped off (which has happened a few times) there is little i can do about it and sometimes with the stories i hear it seems that canadians know that they can get away with stuff like this so they dont care.

im sure it goes both ways, im just expressing my emotions fueled by my own personal experience.

Let's not turn this into a country war, I don't hate canada because of this, and I'll probably do business with canadian businesses after this.

This is between myself and a dishonest and sleezy businessman.

That thread has been up only a few days, and it's at 85 views. I think I've made it clear that if this isn't resolved, nothing good will come of the situation. I'd just like for it to be over and done with.
