2006 Impreza

Post by AWD_addict »

Everyone else seen the pics of the new Impreza?
Here's the iclub link:
http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100879

I'd take the trunk wing off and keep the roof wing.
It would need a new grille. Looks like replacing the grille would require a new bumper too.
Tail lights are altezza meets RX-8, then frankensteins onto GDB.

The Legacy remains the best looking subie. 8)

ack!

Couldn't they let the existing body run a little longer? We only had 2 years of good looking Subarus! Do they have to smack it with the ugly stick so soon?

I saw it on Nabisco. I haven't taken the time yet to post my feelings on the subject yet.

The grill is a return to their "heritage" of the 360......either way, I don't like it.....and I'm glad the legacy wasn't included in this particular redesign.

Heritage of the 360? The BS they fed us was that the grill was supposed to hark back on Subaru's aircraft industry, as they initially began by making aircraft engines. But I still know it's just trying to Alfa-tize the Subaru line.

And I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the Legacy gets this thing too. The Forester is getting the grill for 2007, it's already official.

What 360 have you seen with a grill like that?

Honestly I don't see what the big deal is. The new cars look fine. I'd take this new impreza over an 04-05, and most 93-01's

I don't remember....it might not have been the 360....but it was supposedly one of subaru's older cars.

I'll try to see if I can dig up where I saw it.

I have a copy of a Consumer Reports review of the 360. Conclusion: completely unacceptable  .

The Nakajima Aircraft never looked as bad as this grille. Still, with a little work it could be cool. I think they should've made the outboard side of the headlights slash downwards like fangs. The grille would work better if the center part was smaller so that it fit within the 'wings' so that the grille outline itself is little changed from the current Legacy or they could make the center part much wider, but no taller than present though I guess that would be somewhat similar to the Saab pattern.

I think a body kit would be in order, but it COULD look good.

As it stands, I hate the nose and the taillights. I like the roof spoiler, though.

I REALLY like this WRC concept:

Makes it look mean and stylish.

The 06 Impreza looks a little strange, but the more I look at it, the less ugly it gets. I don't think there's anything too wrong with it. except the STI rear wing still looks like ass.

I don't remember who originally posted these 05 legacy photos, or I'd give them credit, but here are a couple photochops I did.

Maybe I should keep my bugeye, I hate each new year Impreza more than the last. At least the Legacy looks good again.

Nothing like a little vagina splattered across the grill of your car.

Looks like Chris Bangle designed the car after fucking the exhaust pipe of an alfa romeo. I should have gotten the 05 STi when I had the chance.

At least they didn't do those gay Acura style tail lights.

I really hope every Subaru with this grill, the Tribeca, this new Impreza, and any other that follow, are marketplace bombs. I hope they flop worse than the XT or SVX. I hope Subaru wakes up and realizes how big of a mistake they're making...

Otherwise they're going to lose most, if not all, of their loyal owners, including me.
