4EAT drain plug torque?

Haynes manual says 18 ft-lbs. This seems really low, since it lists 30 ft-lbs for the oil and front diff drain plugs.
What do other manuals say? What would you recommend?

fsm says 17-20 ft/lbs

Can't remember a washer for that one though.

I reused the washer that was on there, no leaks after a test run and she shifts a bit smoother.

Personally I would've replaced the crush washer. It's only like 60 cents or something.

In hindsight I should have, but I didn't know it was there before I started. I always replace the oil plug crush washer, but I assumed the trans plug didn't have a washer like the diff plug. Now I know for next time.

The diff plug does have a washer. It's a reuseable one though.

Chances are, on a car as old as ours, reusing that crush washer is gonna be the last of your oil leaking problems, besides, there made of soft aluminium.

Ah hell, there wasn't a washer on the diff plug.

That's another 60 cents I'll need to spend.
