Worst night of my life...maybe the best?

Post by 92BlackBeauty »

Last night, I was headed to a party and long story short, I wrote my car off due to a stupid mistake.

First off, I want to explain the trouble I have had with my legacy.
2 Weeks after I purchased this car, the clutch went on me. I replaced this with little financial loss, but much time and effort.

Next on the list was when I parked outside my friend's house and his neighbour backed in to my passenger side doors. This was a month before I could drive the car again, a great inconvenience to me.

Possibly the biggest problem I had with this car is when my oil all leaked out over a period of 6 hours and my engine ran dry and seized. This took a good $2500 dollars to remedy, not to mention labour and incredible inconvenience once again. This was only recently fixed, about one week ago.

Ever since I went atmospheric, I have had a problem when I turn to the left my car will try to stall. This is what led to the eventual downfall of my legacy. After going back to recirc and resetting my ECU, the problem persisted. It just so happens that I was turning left at a T-intersection and my car stalled, along with the brakes and power steering failing. Needless to say, I was a lawn dart.
At approx. 40 km/h, I smashed into the back of a chevy silverado that was illegally parked in front of a fire hydrant.

Goodbye legacy, and possibly good riddance.

On another note, the engine I just dropped in may be for sale, ej22t with 136K on it. Brand new flywheel, gaskets, no leaks.

Sorry for wasting so much page on a rant, but it had to be done.

I would have thought it would have been written off after driving 100mph in the snow. Or street racing stock F150's.

I appreciate that BAC5.2.
At what point again was I driving 100mph through the snow, or racing any F-150's?

My bad, that must have been someone else. I get confused in my old age.

Sorry to hear about YOUR car. What's the verdict on the illegally parked Silverado? What fault does he have in this?

Well, I am hoping that I may get off on a technicality, but most likely that would only affect my insurance rate.
I am not really hoping for the car to be fixed, as I don't see that happening.
I did sort of run into a parked car, no matter where it was parked, so it still looks bad. My fingers are crossed that the illegal parking
has some weight in the claim.

Actually, I'm considering bulding it up again. I just put a new engine in it, did alot of bodywork, built the tranny up again, everythign runs good. I would rather have this car than one that i don't know how it runs....and I just don't want rice! God!
I checked the damage today, and due to the fact that I don't carry collision insurance, I might just be able to fix it for 2 grand or so.
I need a new radiator, a/c condensor, charcoal canister, right front headlight, bumper cover, and right front fender.
