Just checking over the car for the next rally.I started the engine and noticed the battery light on the dash coming off and on.So after some checking I found the wires that bolt on to the alternator where loose.But it was the bolt,it was the whole shaft that goes into the alternator.I can move the shaft about 1/4 turn either way and hear a sound that sounds like something is corroded.Anyway after moving the shaft with the wires on from side to side the light now goes out.
My question is what's inside? and how's the shaft connected ? can I fix it? or is it buggered!
