Today has been the worst day of my life...

My restored 1966 Volkswagen Beetle that I built 2 years ago was stolen from in front of my parents house and totalled in a police chase... They caught the guy fortunately...but my car is sitting in the driveway, irrepairable. I also didn't have collision insurance because I couldn't afford it...so I am pretty well screwed...

Sorry to bother you all with my problems...but I figured this would be a good place to vent, as you all know what it is like to have lots of time and $$ invested in your car...

I'm guessing the guys got jack shit so a lawsuit would prob. get you nowhere. Bummer.

Very sorry to hear it. I'd love to have an old Beetle. If you ask me, there has never been a more popular car on this earth, that still has a ton of personality.

Take enough money from that asshole so that his grandkids will be poor...

Thanks a lot guys...

I am in the beginning stages of the court battle now...I am waiting for a call back from the prosecuting attorney in the case...Fortunately the guy is going to go down hard, as he is looking at Grand Theft Auto, Felony Evade, and he had some stolen property in the car as well, so probably some theft charges too...

It's funny how people say Volkswagens are so unsafe and whatnot (which is true) and I kind of wish that my VW took it's vengeance out on this guy and impaled him with the steering column, which is how most people die in early Dubs...

Oh, and to make matters worse, I went to High School with the guy I guess and he knew who I was so he was plotting against me for some time...

Sorry for your loss... heartbreaking. I too am a old VW guy, makes me wanna go home and hug my VW's and make sure they're alright.

I have a pertty good stock pile of parts, if you decide to build another I'd be happy to help if I can.
