Electrical Q's (Illum. / TPS / Seatbeltlight)

Post by gt2.5turbo »

1. Alright im stumped on this one: I think im either grounding out somewhere or my steering collum switch needs to be changed cause my dash lights still arent working. Ive replaced the illuminationg control box, looked through all the wiring that i can get access to without removing the dash and im still blowing the illum. fuse left and right. Is there a decent wiring diagram that someone has? or is there some way to test if it is the collum switch? its looking like im going to have to take the dash apart and look through all the wiring if i cant figure it out. :(

2. I need a new throttle position sensor and from what ive heard its best to change out the whole throttle body rather than try and get the sensor placed right. Is this true? if so are the turbo throttle bodies different from the L's? and if they are does anyone have one they wouldnt mind selling? :D

3. Since my 5mt swap was completed my unfastened seat belt indicator is flashing non stop :x . Anyone know where the wire is that i can ground/ cut to fix this issue. I dont really need the warning indicator and im tired of the red blinking.

Thanks

I changed just the TPS in my car, (1994 SS) it is easy to set with a multimeter and feeler gauge, and the sensor came out of a 1990 L. Check this link near the bottom of the page.

cool thanks that should help a bunch... i think it might be the switch itself cause my turbo timer gives me voltage reading when i first start the car. When i leave the lights on and come back to the car the readings are always lower than when i leave the light switch off
