Rough Idle! faults 24 and 35 and more!!! Help please

Post by 90legacygx »

Hi there, I have a 1990 Legacy wagon 2.2 manual. I have been having trouble with rough idleing and engine check light errors. I have used a lot of info from this borad to check codes etc which enabled me to pull 35 and 24 from my ECU.

I tried cleaning the IAC valve etc wth no luck so I eventually took it to the mechanic. The mech ended up changing the IAC, the perge vavle as well as the throttle body. The car did seem to run better but when I start from cold I still get the same engine code coming up. Now the mech is saying the ECU must be faulty.

DOES THIS SOUND RIGHT???

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure he replaced the parts?

I'd try resetting the ECU yourself.

Does the CEL come on, or do you have to pull the codes to see what comes up.

Yip the CEL comes on when I start the engine from cold then as soon as the temp gauge registers I can turn the engine off then back on and have no problems...:?

Were the parts replaced new? Did you check to see that the resistances across the solenoids are within spec?

Hmm....wonder if you have a wiring issue or moisture...

Only other thing I can think of is coolant temp sensor, but that's a left field guess...
