EJ22 @ 431.011 km (267.817 miles); dial-up warning

Post by EJ22_SLO »

Frend is rebuilding EJ22; goal is to swap EJ18 to EJ22 on 1993 Legacy FWD Sedan.

Engine is waiting for some porting (intake, heads, throttle body), lighter flywheel,...
Tuning suggestions welcome (looking for new piston rings and "cheap" tuning ideas);

I took some pictures today...

was his 1.8 carbeurated? are you using the 1.8 manifold on the 2.2 longblock? or do you have a whole chassis harness to swap over and just use the whole 2.2 engine? sounds like an intersting project

Most of the EJ18's in Europe were apparently carbed. A couple other European members have posted pics of their EJ18 carbed cars a while ago.

EJ18 here in EU is "carbed" (monopoint injection); we are swapping only engine - on Ej18 FWD tranny for start; pics of EJ18 intake are only for comparison... (size, water pipe integrated into EJ18 header,...)
Any idea about replacing piston rings/or pistons and rings (we kinda want to make engine "as new"...); since aftermarket/tunung parts are cheaper in US than in Europe, all suggestions what to do to increase power (N/A) are welcome 8);
