....Three Ess Esses!

Post by free5ty1e »

So, thanks to Dave (DLC) hooking me up with the previous owner, I am the proud owner of a new (to me) '91 Legacy SS 5MT! :-D :-D

I just got back after picking it up in Utah... car's in great shape... least expensive Scooby yet at $1000 even!

It's silver like my '92, I'll get some photos after my '94 is back and I can park 'em all together. My family's gettin bigger!

:-D :-D :-D

Thanks again Dave!!!

Well, I'll take some photos of the whole Legacy family parked together once I get Whitey back with a working transmission... but until then:

I must say, I'm glad I saved this car from becoming a complete donor car... I'd never part it out! :)

Glad to hear it got you back safe, which I was confident it would.

I figured it was a good deal too. The owner had it since 93 and serviced it regularly, as his wife drove it. It was *this* close to being a charitable donation, which would have been a shame.

...Yes, yes it does. That will make two rear LSDs for me, a 3.90 and a 4.11 :-D :-D

Can't wait till I can make my SSes fast. This whole stock thing is killing me with no garage.

Edit: Best manual transmission ever - I never had to shift into a forward gear to get into reverse, and I could get into first gear at like 10 mph with no problems. Didn't try any faster than that but was already impressed. I can only hope my JDM tranny shifts that well with Uncle Scotty's cocktail.

When my tranny is good and warm, it'll shift into 1st @ 15mph

I've done 20, but it doesn't like that

Chris- you're one lucky dude...I'm very jealous.

<----- could never downshift into 1st on original tranny.

All the parts are here (4.11 tranny, 4.11 rear dif, wrx clutch kit, Uncle Scotty's Tranny Cocktail) but the mechanic's busy and can't get to it for a couple days. Damn.... I miss driving that car. I don't have the signed title for my '91 yet so I can't legally drive it yet, so I'm stuck with the autotragic (Manual mode, my ass!)
