I went to A.B.E. and got some good!, and bad news. Good news is they can do
all the parts in a single mold keeping our cost down on all our parts. So as
soon as i get the money from everybody i will make the order and buy the
parts from S.O.A. Also good news is that when you recieve your parts you will
only need to bolt on and use existing parts from your old parts. I watched
them do some parts in a video very interesting and kewl at the same time..

Bad news.. well more like 50/50 news... he most likely won't have all the
parts finished untill after Christmas..which i don't know if thats a bad
thing, just more of an annoyance.. Also bad news is that they said to include
"le-way" money just incase my figures were off or something had to be
fabricated to make it fit.. (brackets..mounts etc..) Also the original part
will be destroyed in such a way that it will not be able to be returned. So
we will need to send shiping money as we will not be able to use the refund
money for shipping.

So I'm ready to do the bumper and I've contacted all those who expressed
interest. As far as those waiting on the hood I'm still looking for hood
parts, good news is that the hood can be done as one peice. not 2 and it will
be quite strong.. i sat on one of the hoods they did for a chevy nova i weigh
280lbs.. it weighed about 15-20 lbs,, so strength is now not an issue..

As soon as i find hood scoops and vents.. i will contact those who expressed
interest in the hoods.

SO EVERYTHING IS A GO..

I look forward to hearing from you all.

Awe crap. Maybe I'll go ahead and get the bumper now that I have to wait for the hood...

This is good tho. You've been doing a great job with this Dave!

How much is "leeway" $ in your neck of the world?

Can we get pictures of what the front spoiler may look like. I know that it
was sent to us a while back but I deleted it. Also, how hard and how much
do you think would it be to get the spoiler colored. How many spoilers are
on order so far? What would the final price be around with shipping and
handling (to CO)?

Sorry to take up your time.

I know for a fact, before Dave goes upside your head, that you are going to have to get that thing painted yourself. Believe me you want to have it painted yourself. If you have Dave or someone in Penn. do it before they send it to you - you'll get it and the color won't match etc. The pics are in the archive. Just go to the e-groups website and go back a couple pages. So I'll save Dave a little time but he'll have to tell you how many peeps are in on the order to tell you the approx final price.

Sam thanks, I would like to know the answer to the following:
Any idea on price to get it painted? I remember getting my spoilers (front,
rear and side skirts) cost me $1500. But this was in Japan so....
Also, is it going to look like the white Impreza spoiler on the Legacy Wagon
in message 274 by Matt? What about the holes for the front plates? Is it
predrilled at a specific location or is it up to the buyer to get it driller
for him/herself? Last Q. Does it come with those nice STi fog light
covers? A generic cover? No cover? Or the cover part of the spoiler is
flush with the rest (ie pre-molded so no fog lights)?

Again sorry for all the Q.

No appologies necessary.

Unfortunately, the cost of getting body parts painted is almost the same to have a spoiler painted as it is to have the entire car painted here's why:

Whether they paint the spoiler or the entire car is only a factor of 2 things:

A. quantitiy of paint
B. time to paint it
C. Paint removal

If they are painting a spoiler or the entire car they still have to mix the paint to match and they still have to put it in the oven to bake the paint and they still have to clear coat it. The only variables are the time of the painter person and the amount of paint itself. It still costs the same to turn on the lights and mix the paint etc.

Reccomendation: (this is what I'm going to do)

Get all the stuff you want. Fenders, bumpers, spoilers, whatever. Get it all together. Once you do go find yourself a color you like and get the whole darn car re-painted. Because you are right. If you are going to pay $1500 to do just a few pieces, why not kick in a few more hundred and get the whole darn thing done in a color YOU like. BUT NO BRITNEY SPEARS LEGACYS YOU HEAR?! If I see a sparkle machine running around in Colorado I WILL run you and your rice burner off the road! heheh :o) No offense intended. I'm pretty sure Dave's gonna tell you to go and get your own STi covers. Dave?

Thanks. No Britney Spears? No problem. What about Christina Aguilera?
Just kidding....

So I guess they don't come with covers. The STi (original) are pretty
expensive.
