Door weather strip rubber

Post by ultrasonic »

Has anyone replaced or repaired the door seal weather strip? The rubber on my left rear door has been partially hanging for a while, and in this last sleet/snow storm it froze to the body. When I opened the door it tore most of the mounting clips out of the rubber. I searched online parts suppliers and was surprised to find the price is over $100.

subaruparts.com has it for a little bit less, plus I get employee pricing, but still..... $100 is pretty steep.

Does anyone know of a repair technique, or a cheaper source for the part?

Ajunkyard door can be had for 40 or so, and it will include the strip you need.

I can probably pull a good seal only, at my jy. pm me and we can work a deal like 20 shipped....
