how do i put the grill back on???

Post by Murphy »

so me and dad went to the pull it yourself yard and he got stuff to fix my sisters Jetta and i got a bunch of crap for the Legacy
i got the front grille off a 92' Legacy (mines 90') and i thought it was the same, just slightly different style, but alas its not, its too big

so i need to figure out how these clips go on to hold the grill, before it was held by twistie ties (ghetto Legacy) cause i broke the old clips trying to get it off, now ive got new ones from the 92'

it looks so simple, yet so complex at the same time, why cant they just use screws :?

ok nevermind, i messed with it, and it works for the most part, wobbles a little bit i think thats cause the holes are bent, it had a front end collision before i bought it and that radiator mount is bent up a little

There are clips that attach to the mounting posts of the grille. . . then those pop into the holes on the radiator support. If you have front end damage, that'll definitely make things more interesting. ;)

How did you get a 92 grill to even come close to fitting on a 90???

it didnt, i used the clips from the 92' because i broke the ones i had before
that'd be interesting to try and make it fit though, a hack saw and some JB Weld should do the trick, that was a $15 dollar grill so i need to find some use for it, sounds like what ill be doing next week end maybe :)

Yeah, that's my question as well.
