How to remove crank sensor???

Post by SergeyZ »

I am trying to remove the crank sensor from the oil pump housing. I took out the M6 bolt and can spin the sensor inside, but can not remove it.

I tried everything. Prying it up with a screwdriver, pulling on it etc... and ended up breaking the plastic end where it threads in.

How the hell is it held in there?

It should pull straight up after the bolt is gone. Your prolly fighting a ring of gunk on the inner edge. A bad crank seal will sling right there and collect dirt, then it hardens and can make it very hard to pull out.

YMMV

I cleaned up all the gunk and I can see it separate maybe half a mm from the housing but it wont come out.

It is driving me nuts!

How much is a new crank sensor anyways?
