My 1993 Subaru Legacy L

Post by armas »

Hello, I recently purchased a 1993 Subaru Legacy L edition with a crashed front end and front bumper and driver's side fender. I need to swap out the bumper cover and I'm planning on straightning the driver side fender myself. It is the 2wd version. I'm looking to expand my horizons with this car being it's my first Subaru and no almost nothing about parts and avaliblity. So any suggestions on modification should be done? I was thinking about starting from the ground up meaning tires then suspension and from there hitting the engine bay. So thanks for any suggestions

2wd doesn't leave you many options for suspension. GR2s and some slightly stiffer and lower springs is about all you can do there. Also adding a rear swaybar would help a lot.

You can pick up used body parts for fairly cheap if you look around. You might as well just get a whole bumper and cover and foam all together. Pulling off the fenders and bumper all as one piece is pretty easy once you figure out where all the bolts are:

Read the suspension stickies and to start. Mostly any other subaru wheels and tires will fit (ie. 16" WRX wheels).

Power stuff is fairly limited. cams and exhaust are about all that's worth doing short of a swap.

well thanks I think after graduation after I get a better car I'll get a nicer car I'll probably swap into an older WRX engine with the works and full awd conversion
