EJ20G breath line question

Post by adema2626 »

So i put some EJ20G heads on my 91 legacy SS block. So the heads on this only have one breath line coming out of them instead of two. So what i did was run both of those to the main crank case. I was thinking about it and am thinking there will be quiet a bit of pressure then on the crank case. So i was thinking about putting a T in the line on the right side of the engine and running it to the 90 degree turbo inlet hose like the EJ22T heads did when it had two breathers on each side. So any help or suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Yeah, I would run a tee up to the intake like it previously was setup.

Yah i was thinking that i was just hoping some one have a breath line diagram for the EJ20G so i could just see which way the air goes so i could put the tee's in more accurately. Thanks though!

I haven't looked inside the EJ20G valve covers, but is there any chance you could drill holes in 'em and add 1/2" hose barbs to simulate the EJ22T heads' PCV setup?

mmm i don't remember... I might beable to but I'm not sure and i cant find out now because i have the motor back in the car at the moment. I'm wiring in an oil pressure gauge so i can see what the pressure is so i don't destroy anything. What should the oil pressure be at the highest and what should it be at the lowest? Does anyone know this?

Taking a valve cover off shouldn't be that big a deal... I can take the passenger-side valve cover off my EJ22T in just a couple of minutes.

As for pressure, look here:

Hmm well the thing is this isn't in a Legacy engine bay this is in an Impreza engine bay... Legacy's have allot more space and i could probably have done it when it was single because the bolts were in easier spots to get to. I have about 2 inch's of room. I can get the wretched on there. But once the bolts are loosened its pressed against the side wall. I could use a U-joint but i hate those things...
