Possible Downpipes for Legacy Turbo Owners

Post by matt scicchitano »

Guys, a few of us met down Rallispec( www.rallispec.com ) in Jersey today for some lunch and brews with Brett Middleton from MRT in Austrailia. Anyways, I spoke to Andy about the possibility of making a few duplicate downpipes when he fabricates one for a customer with an STi Version 5 motor. It will probably be a stainless mandrel bent 3" pipe with no cat and the wastegate will have a seperate pipe that meets back up with the main downpipe a bit further downstream. He said he shouldn't have a problem making duplicates while he is making the original.

I'm including a shot of my downpipe(seperate post) and one that they made for their Celica All-Trac Pro Rally car(seperate post). Mine just has a widened opening for the wastegate, no seperate pipe, but it gives you an idea of the quality of work these guys do. It is simply as good as it gets.

Also, you would need the rest of the exhaust done as well from a local shop, as the downpipes I would almost bet will not fit to the original center pipe. But if you were planning to upgrade the exhaust on your Legacy Turbo anytime soon, or in the future, now is the time to do it. Drop the guys an e-mail if you are interested. Most people will agree, the exhaust is probably the best modification you can make to any turbo car.

Sorry, the pic of my downpipe is too large and cannot be sent. The
first picture was the one of the Celica downpipe incase you got
confused :) Sorry. If anyone wants to see my downpipe, e-mail me and
I'll send it over to you.

E-mail them for more info. They would be able to give you a much
better idea then me.

By the way, if you want to see the downpipe they did for me( again,
mine does not have the seperate wastegate pipe), go to Dave's site
at http://www.xmission.com/~dac/centric/members/matt.htm
