- Had a complete donor engine to buy back in 2003 (I think) and the person sold it to a WRX owner because he offered him 300 more.
- Bought a complete running 91 turbo sedan (bad auto trans). Gave it to Imprezive's brother in law along with all of my service manuals (90, 92, 93, 94 haynes, chiltons), a ton of OEM parts and 1500 and then he basically stole it all and disappeared.
- Bought a turbo engine from the junk yard and "issues" at work forced me to sell it to Thawa
- I had to divorce my "wife" who essentially used me for her citizenship.
- Got sued because of a car accident caused by another person.
- Found cancer in 2005 surgery removed it. Found out it was back around my birthday in 2006, got chemo. Found out it was back around my birthday in 2007, got worse chemo
- Was fired from Logitech because of my illness
Other things have happened that I didn't list, some worse, but much of it is too private to share where any random person could read.
Now most recently sent email to the guy selling the car up in Sac saying I would buy it assuming it passed smog. Posted to the thread as well. Didn't hear back on either front so I (stupidly) assumed he hadn't replied to anyone and started to gather parts. When much time passed I assumed the first email was lost so I sent another and replied to the post again... Then look what happens. The only thing keeping me from killing the guy is that another board member ended up with the car.
I don't even plan to keep the EJ22T in the car. I would have given it back to the community, probably within this year. I only needed it to get a BAR inspection and then I will do an EJ255/7 DBW swap.
Instead of being excited to do the work on the car I have started to feel like "Ill swap this damn car if its the last thing I do"

I've already swapped a few other subarus, tuned a few other subarus, raced a few other subarus so I can't wait until its my turn.
With all that said I am planning a practice run of the swap. I am taking my 91 beater and rewiring it to a 98 RS with phase 2 block. I hope to have enough experience specific to the first gen that when I finally am able to work on the wagon it will be a breeze.
