Moroso Oil Pan?

Post by drewriviera »

Has anyone tried this product out yet? Moroso makes awesome stuff for American made muscle cars, it looks great....Just curious to see if anyone thinks it will fit in our cars with headers?

Looks nice, but that's awfully expensive for something that's overkill for a street car or part time auto-crosser. Without serious suspension upgrades, these cars don't generate nearly enough lateral g's to justify that. If someone were really worried about the oil pick up (and it's not like these cars are VW 1.8T's), they could weld the tube better themselves. What would really eliminate worry would be a dry sump. And that would be nice as I could use one to lower the engine into the weeds of my project vehicle and give me a little more insurance against the increased cornering capability it will have over a traditional car.

Damn, that is a nice piece. Almost a work of art.

$650 isn't that bad considering the amount of fab work involved, along with the tooling and fixtures they had to make so they could be consistent with their manufacturing of it.

I'm not saying it's a rip off, I'm saying it's unnecessary unless you've got a serious race rig. Almost seems a shame to hide it under an engine.

^ True. And since a Subaru wouldn't be a Subaru if it didn't leak oil, it would probably end up all grimy.
