larger door speaker pods for front doors.

Post by magicmike »

Gauging interest here since I’m not working at the moment I figured I could get into what I used to do back in the day to make some bucks.

I was looking at the front doors the other day and I could make an mdf pod relatively easily for the left and right doors that would screw right over the door panel and allow for some deeper 6.5" speakers.
I'm envisioning something that goes all the way from the bottom of the door to where it meets the dash at the top. This would take up a good section of the door.
I used to do this professionally so I’m not talking about some piece of junk looking thing. I could make them with or without grills but the price would be higher with grills. Also, I could cover them in vinyl or carpet.
What are your thoughts? I know you can’t currently buy anything like this for our cars so I thought I’d offer up a solution. I know I miss some good mid bass coming from the front doors.
What do you think something like this should cost?

I was thinking about that the other day actually. I have some speakers that I haven't put in because they are too big for the stock speaker mount and I've been too lazy to make my own mounts.

Let me make some measurements and get back to you.

I don't need measurements, I can make them myself. I was just gauging interest and given the 70 something views of this thread and only one maybe reply I'd say there is 0 interest.
