too many projects, not enough time/money

Post by dscoobydoo »

Many of you know we have 4 subarus. Now, for many of you here, one project is enough, but I have 4.
For the most part, her car is done. 01 RS with 07 WRX swap.

Car #2 is my 05 STI.
I just picked up the hardware for a VF-37 conversion.
Other than some handling mods, it too will be done soon ( after I get the rear wiper in)

Car #3 the trusty legacy. I never intended this car to be a daily driver, but that is where it is right now. I have the front mount kit sitting in the garage waiting to be put on. ( the super 16G is so not being tasked enough). Then I will put in the EDM lights. I am still tryingto source a rear window for the wiper, but being old, that has come to a few dead ends.

Car #4. This was originally a project of someone else on the board, who had to give it up. It has been sitting for about 6 months, in the shop, waiting for the wiring issue to be found. I have a new set of tires on the bronze JDM 17's to go with it, and I have half of the AWIC kit picked up. The top reservoir for the AWIC kit is one off a RS, as it is the polished metal finish and not the painted black.
I also have a jdm td05-16G to go on it.

Nice cars. I like the P1 style fogs on the RS.

Is this guy complaining? lol I bought my project car in september. It is now march. Still haven't driven it. I ran out of money, moved and now it's on hold for who knows how long.

I want to just throw the motor in it but I think I need someone to help me piece it together with the parts I have or may need to buy. I think I'm a little lost as to what parts will work with this JDM twin turbo motor I have.

At least you can drive 3 of yours! I'm driving a 3 cylinder metro around all the time which has developed a stupid engine problem that I can't diagnose where it stumbles and sometimes dies when it's cold and you drop the clutch too fast and give it gas.

Kind of complaining, but I understand others have projects too.

Sounds like you just need to slowly find other whole engine and strip the TT to a shortblock and start putting it together. I am not sure you need it, but I have a complete intake for a 2.2t that you can have for free.

Yeah I've considered just buying a 2.2T complete motor and dropping it in to get the car running until some later date when I can get around to rebuilding/building the EJ20K motor. But then I decided not to do that either because I needed money for a deposit on a rental place and first and last rent, etc. But now I'm living at my girlfriend's parents place for $200/month allowing me to save a lot of money.

I'm pretty sure I've got everything to make that car run I just probably need someone who's really familiar with these engines to help me get it all together.

I have the EJ20K twin turbo motor complete, EJ20G intake, EJ20G heads, 06TMIC w/samco silicone piping, TD04, 3" downpipe, EJ22T exhaust manifold, VF11, VF13, VF14, and a bunch of other bits and pieces that go to the EJ22T motor.

Pretty sure I have no use for the EJ22T intake since I don't have that engine but thanks for the offer.
