Oil sensor leaking

Post by BSOD2600 »

While the picture doesn't show it very well, it appears my oil sensor (thats what it is, right?) is leaking oil out the top. Worthwhile to replace?

Ya replace it before it gets worse. My 93 did the same thing, and eventually started making a large puddle on the motor. It is only $10. Honestly you can just get a generic one. Then again yours is not NEARLY as bad as mine.

Or, if its just leaking, you could remove it, reseal it (w/ teflon tape), and re-install it.

the leakage is from the sensor itself, not where it threads into the block. they are all about the same- my car now has one from a 2008 civic motor run without coolant. working just fine.

Yea, replaced a month or two ago. No more leaks.
