93 ss auto into 93 5mt L wagon, ecu swap?

Post by WagonMafia »

Ok, ok... I know, probably gone over this swap a gazillion times. WHATEVA! I just acquired a 93 SS with an auto trans for very short money, and I want to swap the 85,000 mile motor, hood, bumper, brakes, audio, white door handles, and anything else I can pirate from this perfect specimen into my 93 L wagon to make it cooler then it already is. Luckily, both cars are white! yay! After I'm done swapping all the cool stuff from the SS into the boost-challenged wagon, I'll throw it out on my front yard with a (cheap but still profitable) price on it and send it on its merry way. What do i need to to ECU wise? Just not swap the TCU? Ive never done this swap befor eso the more info ive got going into this the better. So, gimme some threads, some info, questions, whatever you want. Anything would be killer. Just please dont flame because I have one goal in mind here, and thats not to fight with ppl looking to flame. KAPEESH!? lol Thanks subie doods, GIMME SOMETHING TO READ INSTEAD OF WORKING THROUGH MY DAY! LOL -J. Smiley

SEARCH...as I can't give you all the answers....but I swapped a '93 EJ22T into my '90.

- Use the ECU from the turbo car
- Swap the cam/crank sensor wires @ the ECU
- Add the turbo sensors and wires-MAP/Press. exchange/BCS.
- Swap the crossmembers.
-etc.

And you'll likely need to do something w/the clutch due to the extra HP/Torque...but I have a 4EAT, so SEARCH.

Have fun..it's worth it....as long as the electrical gremlins don't bite.
