You don't, just a ratchet with a couple extensions and you're good
then reach down there and grab it with some pliers or your hands... go at it between your throttle cable and throttle body with your ratchet

Like cj91legss says, you'll be fine with the manifold in place. You'll want a long extension to get down there, and it might be helpful to have one of those claw pickup tools as well. When reinstalling the bolt you might find a little masking tape useful to hold the bolt to your socket.

What they said.

I took my TMIC off so that I could reach in there from behind the manifold and support the tools from the side.

Once you do it the first time, it will be easy.

Have a magnet pick-up thing handy.'

Also, inspect the wire connection into the clip on the harness side, that tends to wear out. Last night while changing the thottle body I ended up pulling the blade out of the plastic clip and re-soldering the wire to the blade, as the wire had fatigued and was about to separate.

thanks everyone.

VRG, nice to see you back. i definitely learned alot from your older posts.

im grabbing a new sensor from subaru for 140 cdn.
the first stored code that comes up is a knock sensor and then a nuetral start switch.

in the drive test mode it's the same.

and then with the cpu at the mechanics it is the same with the addition of the pressure sensor.

hopefully the knock fixes all of them but i will start out 1 at a time.

Remember to check the knock harness wire at the connector, if it is corroded, visible, partially broken, etc, it will possible be giving bad data to the ECU.
