dying water pump, or leaky something else?
Starting about 6 months ago I noticed an occasional drip spot under the front of my legacy, not much but noticeable. Looked to be coming from around the timing cover indicating my water pump was on its way out. Odd thing is, 6 months later, same occasional drip, sometimes a little coolant smell and I add a minuscule amount of coolant every once in a while (maybe twice in that time?). So, is my pump dying or is there maybe some other explanation that I haven't looked for?

I haven't checked the weep hole. The amount is so small, and so infrequent that when I notice it its only after I park after driving for a while so the coolant seems spread over the bottom of the timing cover making it tough to pinpoint a location. Lately I haven't noticed any seepage, but it has been rather wet and rainy so it's tough to tell.
