Turbo hood on N/A sedan

Post by 92legacy-sti »

So I'm wanting a turbo hood to put on my N/A sedan. I found one that I'm going to take a look at within the next few weeks. What I would like to know is does the turbo model have a way to keep the water coming through the scoop out of and away from the engine? Is there a way I can divert the water away from the engine on my N/A?

Put a blocking plate under it.

It wont do much.If you look at a turbo hood you will realize that it doesnt actually work the way you think. They dont actually flow air like a wrx one does for the intercooler,it just has a channel that attaches to the chimney on the turbo, water intake that comes in wont be much and wont bother anything.

yea shouldn't be worried about it. I doubt much water is going to get in there, and if it does it shouldnt harm anything

It's fine to leave open. I ran that way for several years. Still have it that way. I have an AWIC so the scoop isn't really functional.
