Can the TPS be cleaned, serviced, repaired, etc? Any gotchas for taking it on/off the throttle body? I already know about the idle switch position must be re-set. Anything else though?
Basically, ever since I re-set my idle switch position (by slowly rotating the TPS and doing circuit tests on the pins), the idle is high. The ECU thinks 1200 rpm is now normal and will keep it solidly there after warming up. This leads me to believe that something is still wrong with the TPS.

I don't think it's repairable. It's pretty much a potentiometer/varistor/rheostat kinda deal. I think they just need to be replaced. I would recommend the eBay place I picked mine up from in my TPS thread.

Your old TPS not used because its borked per chance? 
Did some more searching and found the Throttle body servicing thread. Since my car does the jerking also under slight throttle application, I guess the TPS is on it's way out... which would make sense since the idle switch position required re-adjustment. If it's some sort of variable rheostat device, then possibly the contacts/path is just dirty and needs to be cleaned. For example, when the gas gauge starts to read incorrectly, one just needs to take an eraser to the contacts in the fuel pump's floater and all it well again.
Guess that means it's off the the junk yard, aarons auto, ebay, etc for a used throttle body and hope that the TPS is still in the OEM position.

If you adjusted the idle switch, I would also recommend resetting the ECU. If that doesn't help, then yeah you may need to replace the TPS.
