Crank pulley wobble

Post by Impact240sx »

Ok so i just bought a Legacy off my parents, my dad had it tore down as soon as he noticed the wobble, its not too horrible but its still wore it out a little bit. My crank snout looks very similar to this one

Now my question is, what do you guys recommend to fix it? I was thinking of getting a new keyway, and just tack welding it in and trying to file it down so the pulley will fit back on there. Any suggestions?

Does a key fit in it? I would throw a new key in and tighten that one in the picture up to 110-120 lbs. and call it a day. As long is it holds it tight, it should be fine. Happened worse to mine and I drove it over 100k miles further without issue.

I'd second what Steve said to do. If your keyway looks like the picture you should be fine.
