is the HVAC fan and the Shift lock connected?
I have a 93 legacy wagon and the HVAC fan quit last night at the same time the shift lock has locked. While I was looking at the fuse for the fan I bumped something near the fuse panel and the fan started and the shifter was no longer locked. It worked for a while then quit, again it was both of the problems. A quick bump near the fuse panel and everything works for a while. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I had the exact same issue was driving me CRAZY! Found it was one of the connectors going into the fuse box. leave the fan on and unplug the plugs going into the front of that fuse box. Then once you find it inspect everything. I sprayed contact cleaner on the contact of the connector and the base of the fuse box, also bent the pins on the box a bit so they make more contact so far no problems

Well it was one of the plugs at the bottom of the fuse block. A large gauge red wire was loose in the plug. I tightened it up and got a little slack in it and so far it works. The strange combination sure was confusing though. Thanks for the help
