Quick Question...Solved!!!

Post by 93legacylsleeper »

So i just got done doing a ton of work on my car today and I usually have this ticking sound coming form my drivers side head. I assumed it was a lifter... But today on my test drive it got Louder than normal and is still bad. Did I have a lifter go out? I sea foamed the car prob about 3000 miles ago and the ticking never went away. Its pretty loud. Should i try sea foam again? Try Bleeding my lifters? Change my oil? Could this be something more serious? Im pretty bummed... Thanks in advance for any input!

My guess is that you have a collapsed HLA. Take off your driver's side rocker assembly, bleed all the HLAs, refill them. Replace any HLAs that are spongy. Also replace the o-rings for every HLA just for safe measures.

Did you change the oil after the seafoam?

Yeah I changed it after seafoam. I actually "fixed" it. I think one of the lifters had an air bubble or something I just held the throttle at 2500 for 2 minutes and the lifter pumped back up and is quiet again. Phweeeew Glad its better thanks for the response.
