It might be a timing belt idler bearing.

What I'd suggest doing is removing the power steering/alternator belt & AC belt one at a time and eliminate those pieces as a possible source. The engine will be able to run without those belts hooked up so you can listen for the noise.

I would suggest idler as well. Did this just start happenging? You didnt by chance just do a timing belt did you? Thats when one of my idlers failed. I know it wouldnt take long to rule out weather or not its the PS pump or the alterator, but how long could you run without the alternator attached? Until the battery died?

I had a PS pump go out before, and when I took the belt off the shaft of the PS pump did not turn freely and felt like there was metal on metal grinding. I was amazed it turned at all....hahaha

The power steering pump? It was pretty easy to change out. There are just three bolts holding it to the engine, and then you have the two lines to remove.
