Leaking everywhere.

Post by coffeeman885 »

I don't know if this should be in engine or drivetrain... move it if it's wrong. If you look in my engine bay everything is nice and brown except my power steering reservoir and my brake fluid reservoir. They are both leaking. I imagine that the seals are giving up the ghost after almost 18 years and the fact that my car spends two days a month sideways on rough terrain makes them leak all over the place.

Where can I get something to fix this? Do I need new caps, seals, ghetto rigging solution - I don't really know the easiest way to fix it. I imagine that leaking brake fluid everywhere isn't the best thing for car parts - it is a bit caustic.

If there are Subaru parts that I can get to fix this and somebody has part #s I would appreciate it. I am not trying to get my dealership guys to find it. Last time I went there they were dead set that ATF 4 was what I needed to put in my 5MT.

You're best bet is to just try and find another used cap for each and see if that helps. If not, you can try ordering a new one.
