Block O-Rings question?? Help plz
Ok so my rebuild is underway and I had most of the gaskets that I need. My set didn't come with the o-rings that go between the block halves. I bought some o-rings that matched the old ones from Oreillys. I am being told that this is a bad idea and I have to use Subaru Specific o rings so they don't break down inside. Has anyone used over the counter o rings or do I have to go to Subaru specific ones. I don't want to take the motor apart again but I would rather be safe than sorry.

Why risk it. I would recommend using the Subaru o-rings.

Went to Subaru and asked. They don't think the material is different between the o-rings but the sizes could be off just a bit and cause a leak so I ordered them all
