What will fit in my engine bay?

Post by SubiSun »

Hey, apologies for changing topic slightly, do any of you know the dimensions of the ej22/max capacity of a 1991 legacy engine bay, looking into a swap and need to know if I am being too optimistic.

Welcome to the forum. I split your post from the previous one as I believe it is a completely new topic.

I'm not sure I understand. Are you asking what other Subaru engines fit, or what engines from any car manufacturer fits?

Well I mainly just need the dimensions of an ej22 and/or the max capacity of the engine bay as I just want to research into other engines, my dream is to be able to cram an RB26DETT in there, but as I said I do not know if I am being too optimistic. The RB26's Dimensions (L x H x W): 34.25in x 26.18in x 26.57in. I do not believe its been done before, but would not surprise me. If it is not possible I would greatly appreciate suggestions from other Subaru owners as fresh insight is always a good idea.
