Need replacement driveshaft carrier bearing

Post by Lego22T »

Does anyone have any idea where to purchase JUST the driveshaft carrier bearing???
The rubber isolator on my '92 Legacy is pretty well shot on my car and the dealership will only sell you the entire driveshaft. I've checked with Advance Auto Parts and Autozone and struck out both times. I want to get this replaced before it causes any major damage to the trans or rear diff.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!!

You can buy just the carrier bearing for the two-piece drive shafts. The part # is 27037AA000. It's around $120, so your best bet is to find one used. if you can find a driveshaft for cheap, you can just split the drive shaft and take the bearing off of it. You'll probably want to replace the retaining nut if it's a "locking" type nut. That part # is 722035010 and it's around $1.25.

Thanks for the part numbers Josh! Much appreciated. I'll likely buy new because if I'm going to replace it I down want to take any short cuts. The one on my car was a used replacement due to the fact that my original one was toast when I got the car. That only lasted me about 3 years.
