My Legacy seems to be running low on fluid, and I thought I'd stop by O'Reillys and get a quart of whatever Dexron they had now. Overall the selection was very poor.
I had a nice discussion with the clerk about what they had and what they thought would be ok. Nothing they had, the clerk thought would be good, but one of the O'Reilly fluids did mention it was Dexron compatible. The clerk recommended against getting Dexron VI as it was a synthetic and what was in the system would most likely not be a synthetic, and the clerk thought that would be a bad combination.
So, what can/should I get?

Re: Power Steering Fluid
Anything that is Dextron III compatible is what you should use. If you can't get a non-synthetic Dextron replacement, then using the Dextron VI is probably what you need to do.
