brake line ?

Post by mike p. »

when replacing my struts, what is the easiest way to get the brake
line off the strut? i have a 92 legacy turbo and wasn't sure if the
brake lines run through a bracket on the struts and have to be taken
off the caliper or just off the bracket on the struts.

the easiest way is to 1st take out the clip that holds in it place; then cut
the bracket (with large tin snips or a small hand-saw) and then bend the two
pieces back. you can then remove the brake like and wiggle the strut out
(after you take out all the nuts and bolts that hold it in).. Clip or cut
the new struts before you put them in to make installation a snap.

Yep thats the way you do it! The only thing I can add is, I cut the
upper part of the outside(inline with the flat part) and bend away from
you. Good luck. Dan (southwestern WA, USA{Brooklyn})
