SASS MOTORSPORTS ATTACKS WILD WEST - WILD WEST FIGHTS BACK!

Olympia, WA - September 8, 2001 - After a furious attack on the dark, dusty
stages of the Sou'wester Club Rally; the SASS Motorsports turbocharged
Impreza geared up for the long daytime stages of the Olympus Club Rally.
Notorious for it's 28 mile stage and high speed straights; Richard and Jason
felt confident and well prepared.

The night stages that took place on Friday the 7th stated hesitently; being
Richards first event as driver, and Jasons first event as navigator. Getting
the bugs out early, they finished 11th overall and 6th in Open class.

"I just had so much adrenaline," navigator Jason Grahn said, "that at the
first service area, I couldn't walk... I couldn't talk. It was amazing."
Later on when caught in the dust cloud of a competitor, Jason joked, "I
don't know how anyone can do this for a living!"

Saturday morning, the team was up early and preparing to attack the long day
ahead of them. Saturday hosts the notorious 28 mile stage that many rallists
have never finished. Setting good times with high speeds and consistent
turns put the team in a confident mood - which is said to be dangerous think
to have in a rookie team.

Five miles from the finish of the fourth stage of the day, the cars front
passenger tire caught on an amazingly large rock. The impact picoted the
car to the left and sent the car sliding backwards and sideways down the
stage. With the use of soft soil and local fauna the car eventually stopped,
over 100 feet from the rock. The resulting damage kept the car from
continuing and foced the team out of the rally. The roll cage, built by
Richard Buckner of SASS Motorsports, held up flawlessly, minimizing what
could have been a terrible accident.

The car will return next year at Doo Wop 1 and 2 rally in Fuburary sporting
an orange paint job and new sponsors. For more informatino about SASS
Motorsports email Richard Buckner at Rsbuckner@aol.com or
