KYB shocks?

Post by Ryan Apted »

What is the general opinion on KYB shocks on this group?
I ask because I am thinking of purchasing 4 new shocks for my Legacy
RS and they seem to be good value, otherwise what other brands offer
good performance for money paid?
Thanks

KYB shocks?

Post by Josh Colombo »

The KYB's are excellent struts for the money. You have struts not
shocks. I have the GR2's, they are a pretty good performer/overall
daily driver. The AGX's are good if you rally cross or want to fine
tune things or want a little firmer ride.

Bein that you are from NZ, you should be able to get Bilstein inserts or
possibly some other stuff if you wanted to pay more. They would
probably give you a little better performance, but I'm not sure how much
you want to spend or the availability in your area.

Hope that helps

Josh

D`ont forget to replace all your strut mounts when you upgrade your struts/springs. I lowered mine 1.5" with the KYB GR2`s; handles like it`s on rails! It WILL ride firmer, though. Enjoy---ROD (AZ.)

KYB shocks?

Post by Rod Grosvenor »

Doug-The strut mounts are on top of each strut where they attatch with 3 bolts. The rubber/metal backing wears after awhile (100k) & should be replaced with the struts at the same mileage. STI or factory mounts will do; also, replace the old dust covers on the upper strut shafts. Good luck-ROD (AZ.)

D`ont forget to replace all your strut mounts when you upgrade your struts/springs. I lowered mine 1.5" with the KYB GR2`s; handles like it`s on rails! It WILL ride firmer, though. Enjoy---ROD (AZ.)

I ask because I am thinking of purchasing 4 new shocks

other brands offer
good performance for money paid?
Thanks
