On my 92 the boost has been very erratic. Usually its around 7 psi
after the throttle body, sounds correct for stock to me.
The erratic part is that sometimes boost will spike to around 11 psi.
When it does this, it will continue to boost at this level for an
unpredictable amount of time, in *all* gears. When this happens there
is not usually a corresponding power increase, the car actually
hesitates a little. Then after a little bit of driving, if the car is
still boosting 11 pounds I start to feel a power increase. Then all of
a sudden the car goes back to boosting 7 psi.
Anyone else seen this? I've been thinking about doing new hosing to
all sensors, and doing the boost solenoid line reroute by Shik on Daves
page. http://www.xmission.com/%7Edac/library/shik_bypass.htm
Any other ideas? Also once I get this resolved I'll be ready to
increase boost. WHat does everyone use for a boost controller, manual
or electronic.
Thanks
Todd
