Intercooling and Exhaust for Scott

Post by ssspoon@aol.com »

Hey Scott,

you wrote

For my part, I really want an air/water IC.
I live in Denver and have checked out a system offered by Subysports in Colorado Springs about 75 miles to the South. To date, they have not put one on a Turbo
Legacy, but have sold them to customers who have claimed to get them in there. I'm having one on mine, prolly next week as they are gathering the parts for me now.

Good luck and let us know what they use, how things fit, what they move, etc.
Most of us have sourced overseas coolers and fit by whatever it takes. It will be interesting to hear how somebody's' kit works out.

Welcome to the turbo exhaust 3" GB team
But we're getting it done by Subspeed http://www.subspeed.org/
not Subysports

Yes, of course, it's Subspeed. I've wander around their Website and
liked Russ's approach to Subie tuning. Particularly where he
discusses his Loyale Turbo & XT Turbo {EA-82T}Exhaust system. He
writes:

<<When installed on Project RX it proves to be very quiet, very much
like a stock type system. Its subdued tone makes this muffler the
perfect choice when greater performance is desired without all of the
excess noise commonly associated with performance exhaust systems.>>

This is just what I'm looking for in a Turbo Legacy performance
exhaust. I have no desire to join the ranks of the high dB rice
racers.

Intercooling and Exhaust for Scott

I'd have to say that I pretty much want a loud exhuast. I'd like to
sound as much like the rally cars as possible :-) A subaru will
never sound ricey....due to the boxer engine design it sounds really
cool when you just let it fly....kinda like a harley on crack. I
hope that this is exhaust is loud enough...if not then I'll do a
custom one. OH! I looked at the Turbo legacy and N/A
today....didn't take pics, but they look very similar! The 1st cat
on the turbos is bent up to meet the turbo, whereas the N/A just has
a straight pipe from the header, to the 1st cat (which is positioned
level) and then its the same from there.
