Re: all wheel drive working?

I must have looked in the wrong place because I did not see any fuse holder marked FWD on the passanger's side. There were fuses on the driver's side and they all looked ok. Also, the fuses in the interior looked ok, too. The AT oil temp light flashed 16 times when I started it up.

all wheel drive working?

I have a 96 Legacy L . I am asking for an easy way ( beside putting it up on a hoist) to determine if the all wheel drive is working. My wife thinks the last time it was in for repairs the mechanic said only two wheel drive was working. Thank you very much for any ideas you have.

I am kind of new to this so could you tell me what the TPS connector is and what issue this resolved on your last post? Did it fix the wheels wanting to lock up? My legacy does this all the time and maybe my TPS is not working properly? Thanks.

reverse does not work

Help! Reverse gear in my 93 Legacy ( 170,000 miles, automatic trans ) will only work for a short time after the car is started. After it gets driven for awhile, reverse will not work. The forward gears work fine. The trans fluid was changed 25, 000 miles ago. I checked the fluid level today and it s...

I have a code 24. the garage said it was " hard coded " and they could noty fix it without taking the transmission apart. they said the steering problem I am having ( car hesitates, jerks when turning steering wheel hard at slow speeds) is from binding and that fixing this code 24 would fi...

Just drove 150 miles. The highest point the gage got to was about 1/3 of the way between C and the middle of the gage. During the drive it would sometimes go below C. Someone suggested the new thermostat I have is set to always run low. Does this make sense?

I went to a Subie garage and they told me I needed 4 new tires. The ones I had on were the same size but different brands. This seemed to help a little. The low speed turning problem is still there, though not as noticable sometimes. Also, they hooked up the computer to diagnose the flashing AT OIL ...

The steering seems to be ok when I am parked and turning the wheel. I can turn it competely to the right or left all the way. When I start out slowly and try to make a sharp turn, however, is when the hesitation and jerking begins. It seems to be more noticible when I try to make a sharp, slow speed...

thermostat

I just got a 96 legacy. On the 20 mile drive home, it did not throw off much heat and the temp gage did not move much off of "C". I got a new thermostat and now the heat works ok, but the gage still barely gets over "C". Is something else wrong?

A happy ending. The combination turn signal switch did the trick. Still don't have dimming capacity for the instrument lights, but I can live with that.

When I am just starting to move and I make a hard turn ( like leaving a parking lot stall ) , the wheels have a hard time turning and they seem to catch or hesitate a little. Is this normal or could this mean that something is worn out?

What I meant was none of the instrument panel lights work. Both of the turn signal indicator lights come on when the left or right turn signal is activated.

A T OIL TEMP light

When I start my 96 legacy up, the A T OIL TEMP light flashes for about 5 seconds, then quits. Previous owner said this is nothing to worry about. Is he correct?

electrical problem

The 4 way flashers on my 96 legacy L come on when the turn signal is activated. The instrument panel lights don't work, either. The headlights work, and so does the radio and the clock. The 4 way flasher is a new one. Do I need a new combination turn signal switch? The car has airbags.
