Good luck, Scott...
I personally think the same way Laurel does in this case, I'd much rather have a car that had some rust and dings and maybe a cigarette burn or two that cost half as much... that way I don't worry all the time about keeping it new. That's why I don't like new cars.
Well, that and the monthly payments. I mean, who wants monthly payments when you can own a Legacy for a few thousand? That's a down payment!
Bottom line, though, if they give it to you for KBB value, its worth it. Only if you really really like the car, it may be worth more to you.

He wouldn't be the first that would have paid significantly over KBB. It's all a question of how much you want it.

He already has a turbo. Good thing, too, is you can experiment with the older one and instal in the nice one when you know it works.

I'm sorry bud. Hey, at least it's owned by me. You'll be the first to know what's up if I ever move on. Hell, with me that could in less than a year.
I gave it a maiden voyage to DC today. It weathered the trip fine. I finally got to go to the museum of natural history....awesome. I also saw the washington monument and the capital building.

This is actually something that's at the heart of many car owners, though. To some, a car payment is merely the price you pay for owning something you can't normally afford, outright. To others, it feels like being "owned" by the car, itself.LaureltheQueen wrote:I agree with scott, but I don't know. I'd have trouble having fun(going crazy) in a car that I was worried about damaging, and with a car in that pristine of shape, I'd be worried constantly.
I guess that's just me though. I used to beat the shit out of my 91, and I've never had that much fun in a car, but then I got the 92, and actually cared about it. I suppose I've found my happy median, and everyone also needs to find their own.
I had no trouble driving the absolute piss out of the STi. It was purpose-built, and I used it for those purposes. With the new LGT, I'll be quite a good deal more careful with it. It's less a purpose-built car, and more a car you LIVE WITH. I'd rather keep this one looking perfect than I did the STi . . . which seemed to carry badges of courage with it every time it received conerash or a scratch.
Just remember Laurel . . . you PAID for the 92, with your own hard-earned money. You were forced into the 91 when your mom made you get rid of the CRX. Of course you feel very differently about the two cars.

Well, Scott stopped by last night and I finally got to see his new SS and it is very nice. The interior looks brand new and I mean brand new. The color is awesome ( I've always loved the silver) and it's in really good shape. There are only a few cosmetic blimishes and overall I'd say it's a 9 (1 being horribly beat and 10 being brand new).
Nice car Scott! Lucky bastid.

I just picked mine up about 20 days ago, and i absolutely love it.
it is mint, had 93000kms on it and cost me $5000cdn
so what's that like
55000miles and $3500usd?
I lucked out and i know it, it would have cost me the same to fix the 330,000km '96 wagon.
So i was just going to say, i'm in the same boat ... I beat the snot out of the wagon for the last few years, and had some stupid problems. But those were mostly caused by improper service, and at the same time i had some amazing fun with it. I plan on being careful with this one, but at the same time, i want to modify it so badly i can taste it.
I say have fun with it, but then again i have a spare car for emergencies.

Lol, I meant i did pay 5000cdn=$4100usd with no trade-in.
As for multiple cars, i was just getting at babying one and abusing the other, and how that would be pretty tough, since you know what it takes part wise and how much it can "take" abuse wise.
blah, your happy with the car and that's all that matters.
