so im doing an engine swap to get an ej22t out of an automatic 93..i was wondering if i need to change the ecu to run a manual tranny ? its going into my 95 BD

You can use the same ECU, the only difference between manual and auto is that the autos had a TCU, but the ECU is exactly the same for the EJ22T

You will need to snip the ECU ID wire...that is it

You may need to mess with the positive leads for the cam & crank sensors....depending on what wiring harness you are using.

IIRC, one must use an EJ22T ECU since they are different.
