ok I'm STILL trying to get my engine install finished. I have um "found" two small hoses that are coming out of the transmission area. I do not remember disconnecting these from anything.......

Is it possible that they're the ATF cooling lines? I don't know anything about the 4EAT.

whats funny is that there are no marks on the ends like they were clamped. I thought they might be vents but ther were just pointing to the side or up I dont remember. I would think they would be pointing down if that was the case. But I'm lost....

oh yeah, defintely not cooling lines, they are already hooked up, these are smaller like vacume lines of some sort

I too noticed that when I took out my tranny. I had never seen them before, and wondered where they went to. Good to know they were just vents.

Yep, both are tranny vents that don't connect anywhere. One is a vent for the tranny pump the other (connected futher back) is the tranny main body vent.

Apparently there was a recall for these vents/dipstick. If the car is driven too long at really cold temps or in real high humidity they will clog, and it will try to vent through the dipstick, certain ones wouldn't vent and end up blowing the rear seal where the driveshaft is. Least that's what I read.
