Emanage Help
I have installed the emanage and have the software and laptop. But my usb to serial or usb to usb connection for the comunication between the laptop and emanage doesnt seem to work. I cannot connect. I have com3 set on the emanage program, and it says its connected, but I cant import or export data.
Any help please?

Most USB to serial adapters totally suck. I have a lot of experience trying to use actual RS232 devices with USB adapters, and most of them are ridiculously crippled. Basically, they're designed to cost almost nothing to manufacture and to HotSync a Palm Pilot.
You might ask other e-Manage owners what kind of adapter they use, but the best way to go in my opinion is a PCMCIA serial card with a standard UART (most commonly the 16550). Over the years I've probably sold two dozen of these on eBay, many to car owners who need to talk to their aftermarket ECUs but had bad luck with USB adapters.
Or just get an old laptop with a serial port.

Yeah it comes with usb to 9pin serial cable. So i bought an adapter for it, my computer only has usbs and the 15pin and 25pin outlets for monitors and printers.
So I have it running, the install should have been easier if I had the right ecu pinout from the beginning.
So far all I have done is messed with the features and added a little more fuel to compensate for my intake/exhaust. I used to backfire a little bit, now not at all.
I am actually looking forward to tuning and having fun.
Thanks vrg3 for the help.

The E-manage is a very capable unit. I've seen one installed on a civic with a custom turbo application. Good luck with the process.
Am i correct in understanding that both USB/Serial AND USB/USB cables are not working with the e-manage to your laptop?
if neither cable works, I would double check the connections on the computer and the connections on the emanage.
