Shift boot

Post by ferrari494 »

I hate the look of the stick shift boot on our cars(sorry!). I like the look of shift boots almost all new cars have...where the leather kinda goes down below the level of the console and then comes back up...I hope someone knows what I mean...

Any idea on if any of these other leather boots will fit(with relative ease!) on our cars?

I just bought a cheap universal leather boot I found on eBay and made it fit my car like that. I've described what I did in some older posts, I think.

In addition to looking a lot better, it also feels a lot better than stock.

Yeah....I started a thread about a custom shift boot, and Vikash explained what he did in there.

paint the stock one black if it isn't already. Krylon semi-flat black looks great. That and a black WRX leather knob fixed me right up (the blue plastic looked like sh!t)

maybe I'm a kook but the square rubber has a retro-cheap-japanese-car look that I find appealing. It matches the retro-cheap-japanese-car look of, well, the rest of the car :-D

haha, yeah, I kinda hate the retro-cheap-japanese car look.

I don't think our cars look cheap...retro japanese maybe, but not THAT cheap...they age a little better than other cars from the same time period
